Volunteers are a priceless asset to the Nation’s Veterans
and to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dr. Sabrina Clark Director CDCE

I want to welcome you to the Center for Development & Civic Engagment website. We have such a noble charge – caring for every one of our nation’s heroes. VA could not provide its extremely high-quality level of service without our volunteers, donors and partners.

VA has many programs that you can volunteer your time with such as becoming a Volunteer Transportation Network Driver, greeting Veterans at the main entrance as a Red Coat Ambassador, or becoming part of the Compassionate Contact Corps by contacting socially isolated Veterans through phone calls. Your time commitment is up to you. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at one of VA's medical centers or national cemeteries, you can easily connect to the local office by clicking on the volunteer and donation tab. I would be excited for you to become part of our volunteer family.

If you would like to make an in-kind or monetary donation, you can utilize the same link to see how you can support your local VA.

Thank you for taking your time to identify ways you to support Veterans in your community. I hope you will be able to start a long journey with the VA and establish meaningful relationships with Veterans, their caregivers, and family.

Volunteer: WhatWhat's Your Why?

WHY would you want to be a VA Volunteer? One of the most important benefits of volunteering is the opportunity to explore and fulfill your passions. For many volunteers, that passion is serving Veterans. For others, their “why” is the chance to explore a new career field. For some, they like feeling like they are investing in an activity that is making a difference in their community.

Serving Veterans Amid a Global Pandemic

Please be aware VA continues to engage volunteers in essential assignments and accept donations under new protocols that will ensure only safe, compliant materials enter our supply chain. Please work with your local VA Center for Development & Civic Engagment (CDCE) office prior to making donations and/or beginning your volunteer experience.
